My years of experience as a regulator at the Dutch Authority for the Financial Markets (AFM) have taught me to quickly identify an organisation’s needs and the requirements its processes must meet to be compliant.
In complex situations, I immediately map out the necessary changes. I advise organisations on the implementation of processes and the roles that need to change. I believe it is important to ensure that the whole organisation is aware of the relevant laws and regulations. I adapt quickly, identify areas for improvement and communicate with stakeholders at all levels of the organisation to build support for the forthcoming changes. I act as a sounding board for directors and board members, advising them within the framework of applicable law to ensure that my clients are future-proofed and in full control of their risks.
