Projective Group first in UK to achieve external verification of greenhouse gas reporting and recognition under Net Zero Pathway by BSI

Date:October 8, 2024

With transparency around ESG activities becoming increasingly important for clients, staff, and other stakeholders, we recognise the need to objectively measure and monitor progress towards our goals.  Projective Group recently achieved ISO14064-1 verification of its greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions report, and certification of its net zero transition plan under the BSI Net Zero Pathway. This highlights our commitment to reducing emissions and achieving Net Zero using a science-based approach that is based on international standards.

BSI’s independent verification of the accuracy of our emissions data and strength of our net zero transition plan, provide a strong foundation for our ongoing and planned GHG reduction efforts, in line with our commitment to be net zero carbon across the businesses by 2040: a decade ahead of the Paris Accord’s goal of 2050.

The Net Zero Pathway audit based on the ISO Net Zero Guidelines IWA42:2022 confirms that Projective Group is actively implementing a robust carbon reduction plan. Unlike other approaches that rely on offsetting, the BSI Net Zero Pathway prioritises actual emissions reductions, ensuring that we are making genuine progress towards Net Zero.

Completing these audits is a crucial step in ensuring that we not only set ambitious targets, but also implement the necessary actions to meet them.

These achievements build upon our EcoVadis bronze award, which placed Projective Group in the top 16% of management consultancies assessed globally. With our carbon reduction goals now also verified by BSI, Projective Group is well positioned to drive positive change both within the organisation and across the industry.

Stefan Dierckx, CEO at Projective Group: “Completing these audits is a crucial step in ensuring that we not only set ambitious targets, but also implement the necessary actions to meet them. Our sustainability commitments are about making meaningful progress that benefits our clients, our people, and the planet.”

Will Thomas, Head of Sustainability at Projective Group: “Third party verification of our GHG report and transition plan sends a clear message to our clients and other stakeholders that Projective Group is serious about achieving our net zero pathway. Furthermore we want to be part of the solution, and are on hand to support organisations as they plan their own transition, and respond to increasing demand for disclosure from complex regulations such as the CSRD, ISSB and upcoming UK SRS.’

We want to be part of the solution, and are on hand to support organisations as they plan their own transition.

Matt Page, Managing Director UK & Ireland, Assurance, BSI:  “Congratulations to Projective Group for being announced as the first organization in the UK to be certified to the BSI Net Zero Pathway, building credibility in its journey to become and maintain net zero status. This will support Projective Group in building societal confidence in the progress the business is making to achieving net zero and accelerating progress on the climate transition to benefit people and planet.”
