On the 20th of April we embarked on an exciting adventure to Malta, filled with inspiring stories, fun activities and catching up with colleagues; old and new. As always, our offsite was a big hit. We enjoyed three days of sunshine, good food, thrilling activities, and, most importantly, connecting with each other. Upon arrival, we got the chance to soak up some sun while enjoying an exquisite lunch. Then, we spent the afternoon hearing the latest news from across the group. Some of the most important topics discussed were our exciting people development plans, buy & build progress, and brand-new company purpose and values.
We enjoyed three days of sunshine, good food, thrilling activities, and, most importantly, connecting with each other.
This year we didn’t only hear from our own colleagues, but also got the opportunity to listen to some interesting keynote speakers. First, Nick Leeson took us back to the 1990s when he shared his story about how he contributed to the collapse of Barings Bank. He not only gave us insight into the events that took place around the collapse, but also got us thinking about the key role of governance and compliance within financial services.
Next, we listened to some eye-opening stories from Charlie d’Agata, CBS war journalist. Not only did he take us through some of the most nerve-wracking moments of his life, but also showed us what humans are capable of when being put in extreme situations. It makes us more adaptable and flexible than we can ever imagine. Some interesting thoughts to keep in mind while Projective Group is evolving and changing.
As the formalities came to an end, and left us with some food for thought, it was time to enjoy all that Malta has to offer. From local dinners to epic speedboat rides, jeep tours and driving around Gozo in a tuk-tuk, exploring cities like Valetta and Mdina, to the highly anticipated dinner and party We can all agree that our offsite was once again a major success.
